Description

History & Legacy Lamb's Yacht Center opened on Jacksonville's Marina Mile in 1960, when Bronson Lamb Jr. set out to build a marina grounded in honest service and exceptional workmanship. His son, Bronson Lamb III, carried that tradition forward, earning the trust of generations of boaters and building a reputation for treating every customer like family. Today the third generation continues the legacy alongside a team of skilled technicians and craftsmen, with more than six decades of the same commitment behind every project that comes through the yard.

Full-Service Marine Facility Lamb's Yacht Center operates 37,000 square feet of covered service bays with haul-out capacity up to 100 tons, handling everything from routine maintenance to major refits. The ABYC certified team services marine systems, diesel engines, and generators, covering AC and DC electrical work, lithium battery conversions and energy management, air conditioning and refrigeration, hydraulics and stabilizers, thrusters and windlasses, and complete engine and generator diagnostics. As an authorized dealer for Yanmar, Cummins, Northern Lights, Westerbeke, and Onan — and a certified Mercury and Volvo dealer with Yamaha-certified technicians — the yard services virtually every major engine and generator brand on the water.

Carpentry, Fiberglass & Bottom Paint Beyond mechanical work, Lamb's carpenters and fiberglass technicians handle marine carpentry, custom cabinetry, teak restoration, gelcoat and fiberglass repair, and structural work including stringer and transom repair. The yard also applies quality hull paint systems that protect against UV damage, blistering, and water intrusion while reducing drag and improving fuel economy. Bottom paint typically needs redoing every two to three years depending on water conditions and how often a boat runs — and DS Diving's underwater bottom paint inspections take the guesswork out of that timeline, assessing coating condition in the water and filming the inspection so owners can see for themselves whether a repaint is actually due.

Storage & Slips Lamb's Yacht Center offers covered and uncovered lift slips, wet slips, and floating docks for vessels up to 90 feet with beams to 23 feet, with a water hose at every slip and power from 120v up to 100 amp service. Fuel, pump-out, restrooms, showers, laundry, and Wi-Fi are all on property, along with a courtesy car, bicycles, and hospitality suites for owners whose boats are hauled for service. For vessels kept in the water long term, DS Diving's underwater hull cleaning clears marine growth from the hull, running gear, and through-hull points, while zinc replacement keeps sacrificial anodes doing their job — protecting propellers, shafts, and underwater metals from the galvanic corrosion that comes with sitting in saltwater on shore power.

Parts Department & Transient Boaters The Lamb's Yacht Center parts department stocks a wide range of hard-to-find components, sourcing for Yanmar, Cummins, Mercury, MerCruiser, Volvo Penta, Northern Lights, Westerbeke, Onan, and more — from filters, impellers, belts, and batteries to specialized engine components and system hardware. Boaters passing through on longer trips can stock up on spares before continuing on, and the marina's location within walking distance of groceries, restaurants, and shops, just two miles from historic Avondale, makes it a practical stop for cruisers as well as a working yard.
